Bio

My name is Sachiko Goto (she/they). I am the 2022-2023 design editor and a photographer for the West Side Story, Iowa City West High's student news publication. This is my third year on the staff of the newspaper as a photographer and graphic designer.

Over the three years that I have been on staff, I have had the honor of photographing many members of my community, using my lens to tell their stories and bring to light the important issues affecting our school. Through photographing sporting events, music performances, and student-led protests, I have learned the many complex layers of photojournalism and the amount of power it has as an agent of change.
