As someone who is both a journalism kid and a band (trumpet) kid, photographing band events always holds a special place in my heart. As this was the band's first University of Iowa Homecoming Parade since the beginning of the pandemic, I got to witness and capture many of the band members' first-ever parade experience as I ran up and down the parade formation with my camera.
