BIO

My name is Sachiko Goto. I am the current design editor for the West Side Story, Iowa City West High's student news publication. This is my third year on the staff of the newspaper as a graphic designer. 

Over the three years that I have been on staff, I have had the joy of working with and mentoring my fellow designers, exploring my creativity through the many pages  at the IHSPA Fall Conference. 

I am a strong believer in the ability of graphic design to make people's lives better. This includes journalism, where I seek to use my graphic design skills to make important stories look appealing and easy to approach. My goal is to make readers pick up an issue of the newspaper and spend time immersing themselves in important stories that deserve to be told.
